Kennels - The Meeka - Boz Litter

Our Thanks
On April 12th and 13th 2003, Meeka's litter was whelped, bringing eight new ridged beauties - five girls and three boys - into the world.  We had a gerat deal of help from Ridgeback breeders Susan Ralston (Ridge View), Cathy Ford (Omega) and Lisa Hoffman (County Line) and all-sighthound breeder, judge and trainer Denise Como (Wolfwind), we needed countless hours of support and advice from them and Dr. Rich Bloom, DC (human and canine) both during and after the whelping process.

THANK YOU again, you were a great help!

The Breeding
Due to the inaccuracies of the blood testing, the breeding process was only accomplished through the patience, hospitality and caring of Cathy & Pat Ford and the persistence and endearing ""dancing"" of Boz, whose intended (Meeka) had no similar intentions!  Meeka did, however, get five days of one-on-one with yours truly, even if it was in the Red Roof Inn of Nashua, NH in the dead of winter!  We got to travel all the sidewalks and many of the town's parks as she averaged ten miles of romping a day.

Boz later came to stay with us as Cathy came to attend Westminster and he is among the best-mannered and sweetest dogs of any breed.  Even outnumbered by three girls - with two in heat - he was an excellent guest and a lot of fun!

Birth Order
As in life, the Ladies were first...

  • Pia Marie
  • Prissy (Little Miss Priss)
  • Pistolera
  • Penny
  • Peregrine Blue

followed the next day by the Gentlemen...

  • Paulus Maximus
  • Peter the Great
  • Patrick of Ives

Because they were outnumbered and so nice to let their sisters whelp ahead of them, each of the boys received an extra name.
